Our pieces are unique, one-of-a-kind art pieces. We collect our shells and sand from local beaches on the island of Curaçao. The process to create each piece takes from two to three weeks, depending on the curing time for the back, which is made of natural sand, and then the shells design of the front side, which is like figuring out how to fit a 3D Puzzle out of mismatched pieces. 

During our strolls on the beaches we encounter many shells, of which a lot of them are broken due to their travels in the ocean. Yet their beauty still shine through, they are just beautiful, each in their own right. We started collecting them, and at first didn't know what to do with all of them. We had lots of bits and pieces stored away where no one could see them. We decided to start this project where we use the bits and pieces gifted by the ocean, to create beautiful art pieces to decorate the walls in our houses and offices, where they can be seen and admired. This way we will be reminded of the beauty of the ocean constantly. One of the many gifts of nature to be appreciated.

The first designs that came to mind were the heart-shaped ones. Like our hearts, which get broken many times through our lives, each crack makes us stronger and shapes us in a way that makes each one of our hearts unique and beautiful. Just like that, the bits and pieces of these shells and corals are shaped into unique and beautiful hearts.

All our shells are in their natural state, which is the most beautiful they can be. We do not alter this beauty of nature.
